Snorkeling

Thursday, December 5
Join The Nature Conservancy and Fury Water Adventures for an educational snorkeling trip to Florida’s coral reef which is being impacted by rising ocean temperatures and ocean acidification stemming from greenhouse gas emissions. Still beautiful, biologically diverse, and economically vital for the fishing and tourism industries, Florida’s reefs have lost most of their live coral cover and they are the subject of intensive conservation and restoration efforts. A short boat ride from the conference hotel will deliver participants to a “Sanctuary Preservation Area” managed by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Snorkeling gear, reef-safe sunblock, and drinking water will be provided.
Registration is free, however space is limited.
